Life, CURRENTLY || Office Reveal + Why I Decided to Work From Home

Today on CURRENTLY Kherington, I am *FINALLY* revealing my home office!
I'm also sharing why I decided to work from home + how it has been going so far.

Let's first talk about the office!
It has definitely been a work in progress + I'm constantly adding to it {my new mirror is not pictured + I'm on the hunt for the perfect rug}, but it's finally coming together. My husband was so sweet + put in so much work converting our dining room into an at home office for me. I'm all about making a space within your home fully functional. I can honestly say we used our dining room maybe 3 times, so it made sense to transform the room into an office space instead. We ordered my desk from Walmart + put it together immediately when it arrived! My husband also arranged the floating shelves for me {a trip to Home Depot, sanding, painting, + hanging}. I wanted the design to have a very clean + bright aesthetic. I scored my desk chair from TJMaxx courtesy of Marshalls! It is just as comfortable as it is stylish! My rolling rack is from Target + I have had it FOR YEARS. It's portable so I use it when I host at home Style Parties, but it is the perfect addition to my office. It's also home to new pieces I purchase + outfits I plan to style for Currently Kherington photoshoots. My printed chair in the corner is my FAVORITE find from Goodwill for $10! I'm happy to say that overall I was able to keep my major office purchases affordable. Another thing I love about my office is the cork board that I use as a vision board. It's where I hang all of my thank you notes from blog collaborations + consultation clients.

Why I Decided to Work From Home
My number one reason for anything I do is that cute little girl that makes appearances on the blog now + then, Bentlee! I never thought I would EVER be able to work from home, let alone a stay at home mom, but when an opportunity presented itself I had to take it. I love BQ SO much + I knew that if this was the only chance I had to be home with her while she's small I wouldn't regret it. Besides spending more time with my mini, I also wanted to focus on building my blog + consulting as a business. {I announced the addition of my Blog/Business Consulting services earlier this week on Currently Kherington, here.} Like I have mentioned in previous posts, my blog started as a hobby, but has QUICKLY turned into even more than that. I am serious about my brand, so I knew I needed the time + flexibility to go after it. At the beginning of April 2017, I left my part time job + started a new journey.

How It's Been Going So Far
I have officially been home for 4 months now! I can honestly say that I love it! I INSTANTLY felt happier + saw immediate changes in my content creation + blog. Especially since I now had the time to dedicate to it. Don't get me wrong, being home full time has been a major adjustment + some days can be more difficult than others. That being said, I feel like I'm finding my groove day to day. Also, I have been able to secure sponsored collaborations, build consultation clients, discover new business relationships within the community, + relaunch my brand. Of course, the time I get to spend with Bentlee is EVERYTHING! Watching her grow every single day has been my absolute favorite thing. I can tell she loves having me home too. I'm even able to take her with me to meetings sometimes, which is always a plus.

Thank you so much for stopping by CURRENTLY Kherington + for all of your support! If it wasn't for you guys I wouldn't be able to have this opportunity to be home full time. Are you a stay at home mom? Or do you have the opportunity to work from home too? I would love to hear about your experience. I'm also thinking about doing a blog post soon sharing how I balance working + Bentlee day to day. If this is something you would like to see in the future let me know in the comments!
