Style File | Work Wear x 5

Tuesday, July 12, 2016

When it comes to work wear I'm always one to take a few risks. This month, my job set a new dress code in place. Instead of freaking out about it like *literally* everyone else, I used it as an opportunity to document my office style. Don't get me wrong wearing jeans was a nice perk, but being dressed up always makes me feel like I'm working. (Dress for the job you want, not the job you have, right?!) Take a look at how I styled classic work wear pieces last week!

Day 1 | The Printed Blazer
Floral Print Blazer x Target {Old} Similar Here | White Tank x Old Navy | White Ankle Pant x TJMaxx | Silver Ruffled Heels {Gifted} Similar Here

Standout at the office with a printed blazer. Make it the star with neutral pieces. Since my floral print was so punchy, I paired mine with all white for a fresh take.

Day 2 | The Shirtdress
Striped Shirtdress x WhoWhatWear via Target (Similar Here) | Black Loafers x Target (Similar Here) | Red Crossbody Bag {Gifted} (Similar Here) | Red Matte Lippie in Trust Me x Colourpop Cosmetics

The shirtdress is the uniform for the working girl on the go. I am obsessed with this one by WhoWhatWear from Target. {I have an unhealthy obsession with their entire line actually!} It's lightweight enough to beat that summer heat + my favorite option for the menswear trend. The loafers add an unexpected masculine note.

Day 3 | Black + White
Striped Top x H&M (Similar Here) | Printed Ankle Pant x Target (Similar Here) | Black Flats x Target | Black Purse via Goodwill (Similar Here) | White + Gold Bracelet x Wilsons Leather

A black + white color scheme is common in work wear, but it doesn't have to be boring. Try your hand at mixing prints to create interest in you look. Stripes are an easy start to print mixing + complement my grid pattern pant.

Day 4 | The Oxford
Oxford Button-down x TJMaxx | Floral Print Full Skirt x JCPenney (Similar Here) | Neutral Caged Heels x Ross (Similar Here) | Crossbody Bag x TJMaxx | Statement Necklace x Forever 21 {Old}

The oxford is another work wear staple. I mixed things up with a vibrant printed skirt. The neutral caged heels are edgy, while striking a balance with my look.

Day 5 | The Black Blazer
Black Blazer x Forever 21 | Black Tank x Old Navy | Printed Joggers x Target (Similar Here) | Chunky Heel x Target | Station Necklace via Siegel Jewelers

The black blazer is a major key in work wear. I decided to pair mine with my favorite printed joggers. This is an elevated approach to the ever growing athleisure trend.
