CURRENTLY Styling || The Blanket Scarf - Three Ways x Goodwill

Tuesday, October 24, 2017

This week on CURRENTY Styling I am featuring a new piece multiple ways. You guys loved my recent over the knee boots post so much I decided to start making this a thing. I also hosted a Style Party for a client last week, + one of her guests asked me how to style a blanket scarf. She happened to have hers on hand, which allowed me to demonstrate how it's done on the spot. I figured if she wanted to know, you probably do too! + this isn't my first time remixing a scarf on the blog. I also styled a leopard scarf three ways earlier this year {here}. Today, I am styling this blanket scarf from Goodwill {shoutout to the Cascade location} three ways!

The Oversized Bandana
The neck scarf was trending all summer long. Naturally the blanket scarf style transitions into the fall/winter season. One of the best ways to style the blanket scarf is the oversized bandana. It gives an effortlessly cool vibe without complicating your look.

The Faux Vest
This is definitely one of my favorite ways to style a blanket scarf. I've been rocking my scarves this way since 2010 {shoutout to all my GR Forever 21 girls}. Fall style is all about the art of layering + vests seem to come in to play. Simply style your blanket scarf as a vest by draping it evenly over your shoulders + adding a belt at the waist.

The Poncho
They don't call it a blanket scarf for no reason, so it makes sense to literally wrap up in one. Styling your scarf like a poncho with a belt adds interest to your look. I decided to leave the ends of my scarf loose, but you could also wrap the ends towards the back for more of an exaggerated look.

Is the blanket scarf one of your go-to fall accessories? If so, how do you like to style yours? Definitely share your styling secrets with me in the comments, along with which style is your favorite.

I will also be rocking this look on the runway tonight via Goodwill at the WOTV4 Women Network Night event at Standale Interiors. There's still time to register for a night of socializing with local girl bosses. I went last year + it was SO fun + I met a lot of amazing women. I can't wait to walk in the fashion show + cultivate relationships within the community.
