COLLAB | Giveaway + Why I Love Shopping at Goodwill

Welcome to CURRENTLY Kherington's FIRST giveaway with Goodwill! I am excited to announce that this won't be my last time teaming up with them, since I am also one of their Micro Infuencers of 2017! So there will be plenty of collaborations via social media, giveaway's, Goodwill hauls, + tv segments! Before we get into the giveaway deets, I wanted to share why I love shopping at Goodwill.

Affordable Prices
If you know anything about me or follow CURRENTLY Kherington closely, then you know I take pride in myself when it comes to finding a good deal. I'm a firm believer in not having to spend a fortune to look fabulous. It's rare that I pay more than $20 for an item {unless I ABSOLUTELY love/need it} + the clearance rack is my BFF! So shopping at Goodwill is pretty much a no brainer in my case. I love finding quality pieces without breaking the bank.

Unique Finds
Some of my BEST fashion finds have been from Goodwill. Case + point, this blazer above. This blazer hits every single style note I love. First of all it's neutral, which means I can style it more than one way {which I LIVE for}. Plus, it was $7, so completely justified purchase. Want to know the absolute best thing about this find? It's a MENS blazer! {Yes, you read that right!} It's a size medium, so its just oversized enough + a dream item for a lover of the menswear trend. Talk about a unique find!

Lifestyle Friendly
Another thing I love about Goodwill is that it's not just great for me, it's great for everyone! I find things for my husband + daughter often. Not to mention that many locations have a home section. I have found so many heavy duty glass pieces that I repurpose as make up/ nail polish storage or even as toothbrush holders.

Donations Welcome
This may be one of my favorite notes about Goodwill. If you turn your closet over as much as I do, then this is probably your favorite too. Whenever I have pieces I decide to get rid of, Goodwill is one of the first places I think of. I even suggest donating via Goodwill to my clients during Closet Consultations. I cannot stress enough that getting rid of something doesn't mean that it's outdated or no longer on trend. It just means your style has evolved to a different phase of your life. What isn't working for you now may be perfect for someone else + that's perfectly okay. How else would I have scored that blazer?!

Social Diary | Goodwill + eightWest, Grand Rapids, MI

I'm starting November with a BANG! This week, I had my first TV debut on local talk show, eightWest on WoodTV. Thanks to my collaboration with Goodwill, I had the opportunity to talk about the blog + my new Style Consultation business!

First of all, I want to thank Terri Deboer, Rachael Ruiz, + Jordan Carson {the hosts of eightWest pictured above}, Jill Wallace + Lynda Schmich of Goodwill, + ALL OF YOU! I received so much love and support from family + friends + followers via social media. That has made me feel like I am going in the right direction with my blog and business venture.

This actually hasn't been my first time on tv. During my first week at a new job, they had a television segment + I was a model for their jewelry. This time around, it was all about me, + that was pretty nerve wrecking! You think it would be easy to talk about yourself, + I found myself practicing alone throughout the week to make sure everything sounded perfect. Fortunately, I had Lynda with me to cheer me on + support me AND the ladies of eightWest made me feel so comfortable throughout the entire process! {Oh + thank you to one of my blogger besties, Thamarr of Musings of a Curvy Lady! She gave me such good advice about being myself + letting my personality shine!}

Of course, along with the perfect content for the interview, I had to have the PERFECT daytime television look! I had a few options lined up, but the outfit that I chose was the best fit. I wanted to make sure that it was professional + streamlined, while showcasing my outgoing personality + love of prints! {Another shoutout to another blogger babe, Telly of Telly Loves Fashion for giving me a second opinion via Snapchat for my final look!}

In case you missed it, definitely check out my segment here! There is also an article about my services and partnership with Goodwill. I will also have a more detailed post about my Style Consultation services, a long with testimonials + an inside look at experiences with my clients! If you are interested in a Closet Consultation, Personal Styling, or a Style Party by yours truly, contact me via email or click the contact button on my Instagram account to book your appointment. Here are a few more photos below from the day + I can't wait to join eightWest + Goodwill AGAIN for their December segment/show! Stay tuned!
