Content Creation Tips

"I would love to do more with my content, but I think the main thing I need to work on is consistency."

Whether you are new in the blog game or an OG, your content creation strategy always comes back around to consistency. It's the number one topic on a lot of influencers minds, especially with all this algorithm talk {miss me with A L L that INSTAGRAM}. No matter where you rank on the IG Feed or Google Analytics, one thing is key. In order to keep your audience interested + engaged, you must be willing to create QUALITY content CONSISTENTLY. Today on CURRENTLY Kherington, I will be sharing three tips on how to create quality content on a consistent basis. At the end of the day, no matter how many times you hit publish, your content has to be something worth taking a second look.

Content Creation Tips

First, lets talk about why C O N S I S T E N C Y is the name of ANY game. When it comes to content creation, it's easy to get caught up in trying to "reinvent the wheel" + feeling like you need to capitalize on ALL of the fresh ideas. I'm here to tell you from personal experience that consistency is the foundation. While creative content is important, simply showing up for your audience is where it all begins. This is how you build trust within your personal brand community.

This is rule number one when it comes to creating on a consistent basis. Planning out your content ahead of time is not only a time saver in the long run, but it keeps you on top of things overall. I personally like to plan out my content a quarter ahead of time. My planning process consists of brainstorming ideas, batch creating content {photo sessions, editing, + writing - there seriously could be an entire blog post about this}, + scheduling out when the posts will go LIVE. I am almost two years back into my blogging routine + while I constantly juggle mom life, wife life, + entrepreneur life - scheduling this far in advance works best for me. As you begin to come up with a plan, think about your day to day life/responsibilities. E V E R Y O N E is busy + I'm a firm believer in the fact that we always make time for what we love. Once you really start to evaluate your schedule, I'm confident you will discover that you have more time than you think.

One way to be sure you are always creating the best content is by being authentic. This comes from your "why" - the reason you are creating content in the first place. When you center your content around that reason, your audience will be drawn to your posts because it's always coming from an authentic + genuine place. Something I learned from my girl + queen of blog/biz tips, Brittany Grace aka Not Another Blonde {here + here}, is that your content should always do one of three things - inspire/motivate, inform/educate, or entertain. When you hone in on one of these three areas, it gives your content focus/direction every single time. I personally love for my posts to inspire/motivate - whether that's via this CURRENTLY Blogging series, style ideas, or all things mom life {which sometimes can be more entertaining than anything}.

The final tip to create quality content consistently is to be your audience. While it is great to create content for yourself, you also have to think about your audience because at the end of the day you are creating for them + they are the ones contributing to your overall growth. When editing your content, think about how your audience would respond to what you have already written. Does your post make sense? Could you simplify the point you are trying to make? Does your content sound like you? These are just a few things you can think about while editing your posts. Even when it comes to the type of content you want to create, it's also good think about how you consume content. If you personally watch more videos, figure out ways to incorporate that into your current posts (via Instagram Live or Stories). If podcasts are your new favorite, it may be helpful to do an audio version of your blog posts so your readers have the option to listen if they don't have time to scroll + read.

  1. This was a super helpful post! I've tried being more consistent by scheduling out my posts and it has helped a ton. Except now I need to schedule out even further because I find that I don't capitalize on a lot of good post ideas because I waited too long and I missed the moment! Thanks for sharing this!

    1. Thank you Carolyn for your feedback! Yes, scheduling out content in advance is definitely key! Even though I usually plan for the quarter, any idea that pops into my head that I feel is worth blogging about I immediately save as a draft on my blog platform. That way when I start creating content, I don't lose my ideas + can find where they fit. I absolutely LOVE your content, if anything I should be taking advice from you. :) Thanks again for reading!
