"Tell me about it, stud." -Sandy x Grease

Whenever I throw on a leather jacket, I immediately think of that i c o n i c moment in Grease + feel like the coolest person in the room. This wardrobe staple elevates your style game + adds the perfect shot of edge to any look! That's why I'm kicking off 2019 by getting back to B A S I C S. Say hello to The Leather Jacket Three Ways!

T H E L E A T H E R J A C K E T
First of all, I can't even dive into this post without shouting out The Counting House for having this gem of a leather jacket. Don't get me wrong, you know I already have one in my closet {here}, but I needed a more grown up + classic version to switch things up. You already know I bout died when I spotted this one at one of our local boutiques. With that being said, I couldn't wait to style this baby. What better way to prove that it was a justified purchase than getting all of the mileage + styling it three ways!

O N E || Mixing Prints
If I'm not mixing prints am I really even dressed? That's how I feel overall about my personal style + you know mixing prints is my JAM! I took the opportunity to do a little dressed up winter styling with one of my other favorite prints - buffalo check. I recently scored this button down in the mens section at Burlington + it naturally pairs well with my leather jacket. Another super rare note - this mini skirt. Not only am I not spotted very often in a short option, but this mini was also hiding in my closet WITH THE TAGS. Apparently I thrifted this skirt at the end of winter last year + was waiting for this moment to bust it out! {Good lookin' out past Kherington!}

Outfit Details || Earrings x Zara, Crop Top via Goodwill, Sparkle Pant x Sparrow Boutique, Block Heel x TJMAXX

T W O || Date Night
Don't you dare put away those party pieces! I'm all about gettin' yo shine on ALL YEAR LONG! It was love at first sight with these sparkle pants from Sparrow Boutique. + I knew they would be high waisted enough to style with my {only} crop top. One thing to note when it comes to leather jacket styling is to play around with masculine + feminine elements. These pieces couldn't be more opposite, but that's what makes this look so much fun. Trust + believe this look will be making a date night appearance!

Outfit Details || Graphic Tee x Marie La Mode, Mother Denim c/o A.K. RIKKS, Platform Sneakers x Converse

T H R E E || Kicking It Casual
Casual for me still has to make a style impact. It's been a minute since I've styled a graphic tee. I actually ended up cutting the sleeves off majority of mine for working out {a tip brought to you by my friend Katie aka What Kate Finds}. Styling a leather jacket with a graphic tee takes the cool factor to another level. I added my favorite pair of denim {love the E X T R A zipper detailing - yes, they do actually zip + unzip} + platform sneakers because this 5'2'' shortie needs all the height she can get, even in a casual look.

Do you own a leather jacket? If so, what's your favorite way to style it? + which look would you wear? I honestly could have styled this beauty even more ways. Fortunately, I've got all year to keep this leather love in heavy rotation!

Also, let me know in the comments what wardrobe staple you'd like to see styled in this series. I'm all about making the most of classic pieces, especially if you have to invest in them. I'm planning on C U R R E N T Basics being a monthly feature on all of my platforms, so we've got plenty of opportunities to add in your favorite basic pieces.
